Alvogen recalls fentanyl patches due to possible overdose risk

Drugmaker Alvogen has issued a voluntary recall of fentanyl transdermal patches in the U.S. due to some of the products being “multi-stacked” on top of each other. The packaging error, which has already yielded one serious adverse event report, could lead to life-threatening breathing issues if patients apply the stacked patches, the company warned.
